Interview Tips
Get the most out of your user interviews with these proven techniques.
🎯 For Builders
- 1.Start with open questions. Ask "Tell me about..." instead of "Do you...?"
- 2.Listen more than you talk. Aim for 80% listening, 20% asking.
- 3.Don't pitch your solution. You're here to understand problems, not sell ideas.
- 4.Ask "Why?" five times. Dig deeper to find the root cause.
- 5.Ask for specific examples. "Can you walk me through the last time that happened?"
💬 For Users
- 1.Be honest and specific. Real details help builders create better solutions.
- 2.Share your frustrations freely. That's exactly what builders want to hear.
- 3.It's okay to say "I don't know." Don't make things up to seem helpful.
- 4.Give context about your situation. Your unique perspective is valuable.
- 5.Ask questions too. If you're curious about what they're building, ask!
