In short
Ball of Steel is a mobile arcade game controlled by tilting your device. It requires no account and sends no score, settings or motion-sensor readings to the publisher.
- Scores, settings, calibration and unlocked cosmetics stay in the application's private storage on your device.
- The accelerometer and gravity sensor are read only while you play. Their readings are not stored or transmitted.
- The Android version uses Google AdMob and Google's consent platform. Advertising is also planned for iOS, subject to Apple's additional tracking permission.
- In-app purchases are planned through Google Play and the App Store. The stores, not the publisher, handle payment details.
- You can play without creating an account or providing your name, email address or precise location.
This summary is provided for readability and does not replace the sections below. This English version is provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.

Scope and release status
This policy applies only to Ball of Steel. The Android package identifier is com.jackofalltrades.ballofsteel. The iOS bundle identifier will be added here before the iOS release once it is finalised.
Advertising through Google Mobile Ads and consent through UMP are implemented on Android. The equivalent iOS advertising integration and store billing on both platforms are planned features; the relevant disclosures below apply from the version in which each feature is enabled.
The publisher's site and other applications are covered by the general privacy policy. Google Play and Apple separately control account, download, payment and purchase-history data processed for their own services.
Data stored only on your device
The game stores the following data in its private local save file so that your progress and preferences survive between sessions:
- best score and number of runs played;
- sound, music, sensitivity and control-inversion settings;
- tilt calibration values;
- selected and unlocked ball skins;
- Remove Ads and cosmetic entitlements once real store billing is enabled;
- advertising-consent choices stored by Google's consent SDK where applicable.
Gameplay data is not uploaded, synchronised or backed up by the publisher. Clearing the application's data or uninstalling it deletes it, subject to any separate purchase record retained by the store.
Motion sensors
Ball of Steel reads the device accelerometer and gravity sensor to translate physical tilt into movement and to let you calibrate a neutral position.
Sensor values are processed in real time on the device. They are not transmitted, used for advertising, associated with an identity, or retained as a motion history. On supported systems you can control sensor access through system settings; without usable sensor readings, tilt gameplay may not function as intended.
Advertising and consent
The free game is funded by interstitial ads shown between some runs and optional rewarded ads that can grant one revive. Google AdMob supplies these ads on Android; use on iOS is planned.
AdMob may process the advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID or, on iOS, IDFA after permission), IP address, device and operating-system information, app interactions, ad impressions and interactions, diagnostics, and an approximate location inferred from the IP address. Ball of Steel does not collect or send precise location.
Where required, Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) asks for consent before personalised advertising. Until consent permits ad requests, the application does not initialise Mobile Ads. You can revisit the available privacy choices from the game's Settings screen.
On iOS, access to the IDFA and tracking across applications will additionally require permission through App Tracking Transparency. Declining personalised advertising or ATT does not restrict gameplay; ads may instead be contextual or non-personalised.
Learn how Google uses data from apps that use its services at Google's partner-data disclosure and in its privacy policy.
Planned in-app purchases
The game plans to offer non-consumable purchases for Remove Ads and a cosmetic skins bundle through Google Play Billing and Apple's In-App Purchase system. These purchases are not yet connected to live store billing.
When enabled, the store will process the account, payment method, billing address, transaction and purchase history under its own terms. The publisher will receive only the product identifier, transaction status and proof needed to grant or restore the entitlement; it will never receive full card or bank details.
Purchase records are retained by Google or Apple according to their legal and accounting obligations. A local entitlement remains until app data is cleared; the store's Restore Purchases function can recover eligible non-consumable purchases.
Sharing a score
The Share action opens your device's native share interface with text prepared by the game. Ball of Steel does not receive the recipient, chosen application or resulting message. Any service you select processes the shared content under its own privacy policy.
Purposes and legal bases
- Running the game, saving preferences and granting purchased content — performance of the digital-content contract (article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Contextual advertising, frequency capping, security and fraud prevention — the publisher's legitimate interests in funding and protecting the service (article 6(1)(f)), subject to your rights and applicable consent rules.
- Personalised advertising and access to an advertising identifier — consent (article 6(1)(a)); consent can be withdrawn at any time.
- Purchase, tax and accounting records — performance of the contract and compliance with legal obligations (articles 6(1)(b) and (c)).
- Responding to correspondence and rights requests — legitimate interests or compliance with a legal obligation, depending on the request.
Recipients and international transfers
Google and Apple may process data outside the European Economic Area. Depending on the recipient, transfers rely on an adequacy decision, including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses with appropriate safeguards.
- Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC — AdMob, Mobile Ads and UMP; Google Play distribution and, once enabled, billing. Privacy policy.
- Apple Inc. / Apple Distribution International Ltd. — App Store distribution and, once enabled, in-app purchases. Privacy policy.
- The publisher, only for correspondence and any support information you choose to send.
Retention
- Local scores, settings and entitlements — until you clear app data or uninstall the game.
- Advertising consent — for the period stored by UMP or until you reset or change your choice.
- Advertising and diagnostic data held by Google — according to Google's retention policy, generally up to 14 months for data associated with an identifier.
- Store transaction and accounting records — for the periods required by the store and applicable law; the publisher's accounting evidence is retained for 10 years where legally required.
- Support correspondence — up to 3 years after the last exchange.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, where applicable, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability or objection, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact mondautjonathan@gmail.com. A response is provided within one month, extendable by two months for a complex request.
Because gameplay data stays only on your device and is not linked to an account, the publisher cannot retrieve it for you. You can erase it directly by clearing app data or uninstalling. Advertising choices can be changed through the privacy-options entry in Settings and system advertising controls.
You may complain to the CNIL, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07 — cnil.fr.
Children
Ball of Steel is a general-audience game and is not directed primarily at children. It is not intended for publication in a restricted Kids or Designed for Families category.
The publisher does not knowingly collect personal data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, or below the applicable age of digital consent. Where a user or session must be treated as under age, child-directed and under-age signals are sent to the ad service and only appropriate non-personalised advertising may be requested.
A parent or guardian who believes a child supplied personal data can contact mondautjonathan@gmail.com to request deletion.
- Store age rating
- To be added after the Google Play and App Store questionnaires are completed.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
The publisher does not sell personal information for money. Sharing advertising identifiers and interaction data for cross-context behavioural advertising may constitute a sale or sharing under California law.
To opt out, choose non-personalised advertising in the game's privacy options, restrict the advertising identifier in system settings, or email mondautjonathan@gmail.com with “Do Not Sell or Share”. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Changes
This policy may change when processing or the law changes. In particular, the iOS advertising and store-billing sections become operational only when those integrations ship. Material changes will be reflected in the policy and relevant store declarations before release.
